Robert Harold Sperber ’36

ON JULY 17, 1991, Bob and his wife, Jane, died tragically in a house fire, on their 36th wedding anniversary, at their residence in Palm City, Fla.

Transferring to Princeton from Rutgers Univ., Bob majored in political science and was a member of Court Club. During WWII he served in the Army Air Corps.

Throughout his business career he was engaged as a salesman, buyer, and retailer in both men's and women's fashions. During the 1960s he owned a successful men's clothing store in Muskegon, Mich. Bob finished his career as sales manager of Reliable Knitting Works, Slipper Division, in Milwaukee.

In 1983 Bob retired and moved to Stuart, Fla., to enjoy the weather, sailing, swimming, restauranting, and long walks along the beach. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his son Robert, daughters Anne S. Mclellan and Katherine, and four grandchildren.

Even though in latter years we did not hear from or see much of Bob, those of us who knew him will remember his keen sense of humor and thoughtful nature. Bob was always proud to be a Princeton graduate and a member of our Class.
