Bob died May 31, 2017.

Bob was a native of Houston and graduated from the Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs, Colo. There he played football, which he continued at Princeton by playing on the 150-pound team. He also played on the golf team.

After graduating from Johns Hopkins Medical School he returned to Houston, where he and other doctors founded the Medical Clinic of Houston.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Johnston; son Thomas M. Johnston; daughter Sallie Johnston; stepchildren S. Timothy Needham, Jennifer Lynne Needham, and Amy Lee Walker; three grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren. The class grieves with his family on the loss of a superlative classmate.
