Robert L. Noble ’35

Body

BOB NOBLE DIED Mar. 26, 1994. Born in Brooklyn in 1913, he came to Princeton from Ridgewood, N.J. He roomed alone on campus and majored in English. Following graduation, Bob went to work in the family engraving business. A few years later, he joined Benton and Bowles, where he devised writing campaigns and wrote advertising copy for clients in a variety of products and services. He remained in advertising until retirement.

He married Jean Cole of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., in 1957, and she survives him. The couple lived in Brooklyn; there were no children. He was a devotee of fishing, especially in the waters off Cape Cod, in the Maine lakes, and Florida. He and his wife traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad.

Ransom Noble '32 is his brother. Other survivors are nephews Richard '73 and James and niece Jean. The class sends sincere sympathy to Bob's widow, Jean, and to his family and friends.
