Robert Leroy Hutton Jr. ’34

Body

BOB HUTTON, after many years of valiantly battling Parkinson's disease, died in a Maryland hospital Sept. 17, 1991. The Huttons had recently moved to Maryland to be near their daughter and granddaughter.

Bob had a distinguished career in advertising and public relations and was a pioneer in developing television station promotion techniques. He had been V.P, of Edward Petry & Co., representing television stations, after being associated with B.B,D. & Q. advertising agency and WOMEN'S HOME COMPANION magazine. He concluded his business and professional career as a public service campaign manager at the Advertising Council. He retired in 1977.

At Princeton, having come from Choate, Bob was associate editor of THE DAILY PRINCETONIAN, advertising manager of the athletic association, and resident manager of Colonial Club. He graduated with honors.

Surviving are his wife of more than 50 years, the former Mary Best of Minneapolis; his daughter, Mary H. Parsons; a granddaughter; and a sister. To them we extend our warm sympathy.
