Robert A. Miller ’44

Body

Bob died Feb. 27, 1995, after having suffered a heart attack several days earlier, while playing tennis with his pals. He was 72. He was the son of Todd H. Miller and the late Dr. Henry K. Miller '20, a professor of chemistry at Princeton. Bob came to us from Lower Merion H.S. At Princeton, he majored in chemistry, played soccer, managed the wrestling team, was an editor of the Nassau Sovereign, and belonged to Campus Club. After graduating, he was commissioned in the field artillery and served overseas in the Philippines and in Japan. He was discharged as a 1st lt. in 1945. Then, he joined the general chemical division of Allied Chemical Corp., working in sales in N.Y.C. He retired in 1971, moved to California, and joined the Coast Pro Seal Division of Teledyne as a sales manager. He was later a co-owner of Goal Chemical Sealants, from which he retired in 1989. He enjoyed bridge and history and was absorbed in genealogical research, but tennis was his passion and one of his greatest pleasures. He loved Princeton and came back frequently for Reunions, We have lost a loyal, fun-loving classmate. To Patsy, his wife of 51 years; his daughters Elizabeth, Deborah, and Keppele; his son, Craig; his ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Katherine Wilhoytc and Marian Hamm; the class extends its sympathy.
