Robert Osborn Waddell ’34

BOB WADDELL, who operated his own vendingmachine business in Houston until his retirement, in 1981, died Mar. 9, 1992. "He was sick for a long time," his friend Ralph Hubbard reported, "uncomplaining except for expressing his lamentonceat being forced to give up his golf. His last round was a 77, when he was 7S." (He shot a 76 when he was 77.) Bob and Ralph both worked for Anderson, Clayton & Co., cotton merchants, in South America and thereafter in Houston. Over the past year or so they saw each other often, having lunch and enjoying memories that went back to college days. Bob roomed all four undergraduate years with Arm Fell, with whom he came to Princeton from Woodherry Forest.

Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Betty Ann (Galbreath), a Louisiana State alumna; a son Robert C.; a daughter Susan; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. To them we offer our sincere sympathies.
