Robert Ruffin King III ’41

Body

Bob R. King -- we had two Bob Kings -- died Feb. 2, 1992, in the Greensboro, N.C., Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. There was a service of remembrance at his First Presbyterian Church, where he had been a deacon and an elder.

Bob wasn't much for keeping in touch with the Class. His wife, Mary Hampton King, provided the only information we have for the King family at the time our 50th year book was put together. He was a Greensboro native and came to Princeton from Woodbury Forest. Following WWII service in the Army Air Corps, as a captain, he devoted his entire business life to Blue Bell Industries, a manufacturer of blue jeans and play clothes.

In addition to Mary, Bob King is survived by four sons: Robert Ruffin IV '74, Pendleton'76, Wade Hampton '77, and John Christian. There are four grandchildren. Our sympathy goes out to all of them.
