Robert S. Andre Jr. ’76

Body

BOB DIED unexpectedly Apr. 23, 1990, while recovering from surgery. The cause was a split aorta resulting from Marfan's Syndrome, a genetically inherited condition most often occurring in unusually tall people. Bob majored in chemical engineering, but he most enjoyed his membership in Charter Club and his many activities related to playing the trumpet. He was a founding member of the Jazz Ensemble, a member of the marching band for three years (drill master for one year), and played in the concert band.

After graduating, Bob worked for City Service, then for Air Products and Chemicals of Trexlertown, Penn., where he was a senior principal engineer at the time of his death.

He married Fran Shandor in 1981 and had two sons, David (7) and Frank (1112). They made their home in Coopersburg, Penn. He was a devoted family man who coached teeball and participated in Tiger Cubs with his son. He was also a concerned environmentalist who loved the outdoors. Bob will be remembered for his sincerity, his sense of humor, and his real caring for his family and friends,

Along with his wife, Fran, and sons, David and Frank, Bob leaves his mother, Peg; three sisters, Susan, Linda, and Amy; and a brother, Bill, To all of them the class extends its deepest sympathies.
