Robert T. Wallace ’28
Bob Wallace died Oct. 1, 1994, at Meadow Lakes retirement community in Hightstown, N.J., to which he moved from Princeton in 1983. He had been in poor health for several years. He prepared for college at Barrington H.S. in Newark, N.J.
At Princeton, he majored in psychology. He was a member of Dial Lodge. He did his postgraduate study in mathematics at Johns Hopkins and at the Univ. of Pennsylvania. After college, he lived in Newark and worked for several years with the Newark Packing Co.
He then taught math and coached the track and cross-country reams at the Hill School and Lawrenceville School (where he worked for 24 years). He retired in 1968. His last team was the indoor track national champions among prep schools.
Bob lived in Princeton, where he was a member and former deacon in the Nassau Presbyterian Church. He attended our 50th and 60th reunions. In off years, be often marched in the P-rade.
A brother, Leslie John '25, died in 1926. Bob will be remembered by his students for his range of interests, his experience, and his knowledge and influence for good in guiding young people. He is survived by a sister, Hazel H., to whom the class extends its sympathy.
