Robert W. Shavelson ’54

Body

Born in Philadelphia, Bob grew up in Absecon, N.J., and graduated from Atlantic City High School. He majored in chemistry at Princeton, was a member of Elm Club, and played numerous sports. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in his junior year.

Bob subsequently graduated from Harvard Medical School, served two years in Vietnam as a lieutenant colonel, and then practiced internal medicine in Margate City until 2002. Bob was among those who attended our 55th reunion this spring.

Bob’s wife, Sonia, died in 1998. He is survived by his three children, Pamela, Patti, and Robert, and grandsons Ryan and Kyle.
