Bob died Aug. 3, 2010.

A graduate of the Nichols School in Buffalo, N.Y., he majored in economics at Princeton and graduated with honors. He was connected with the Student Refreshment Agency and joined Court Club. His late brother, Tom, was in the Class of 1938.

After graduation, Bob joined Bankers Trust Co. in New York. In March 1942 he entered the Army Air Corps and served for four years, mostly in the Pacific theater. He was separated in January 1946 as a staff sergeant.

Returning to Bankers Trust, he was assigned to the personal-trust division of the auditing department and, by 1949, was put in charge of the division, having earned an M.B.A. from NYU’s graduate school in 1948. After a variety of assignments in the auditing department, he was appointed deputy auditor in 1964. In 1971, he was made general auditor, and in 1983 he retired.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Behlmer; three daughters, Emily Weber, Barbara Avella, and Susan Spencer; and three grandchildren.
