ROBERT WALTER BROWN, age 67, died Nov. 13, 1989. He was born Feb. 26, 1922, in Ash Point, Me, In 1944 he was awarded a B.S. degree in chemistry by Bowdoin College. His election to Phi Beta Kappa there and his selection for the honor of magna cum laude indicate the superb quality of his scholastic achievements. He was also a member of Chi Psi fraternity. He came to Princeton and earned A.M. and Ph.D degrees in chemistry. Dr. Brown married Sara Emery in 1950 and they had two daughters, Nancy and Susan, and one son, Steven. His professional career included positions of increasing responsibility with the manufacturing and research activities of the chemical division of Uniroyal, Inc., in Naugatuck, Conn., where the Browns made their home. He served as president of the Board of Education in Middlebury. To Mrs. Brown, Susan, Nancy, and Steven, we extend sincere sympathy.
