Robert Yates Kopf ’36

AT 77, BOB died July 30, 1991, in Warren, Penn.

He prepared at Kiski where he played footblall. At Princeton he majored in economics and was a member of Tower Club. As an excellent lineman, he earned his Class numerals on our undefeated and unscored-upon freshman football team, and he won his varsity letters the next three years on our championship teams.

In his latter years he enjoyed his home at Delray Beach, Fla., and his old home, "The Locusts," atRussell, Penn., which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Bob was indeed a busy and active man despite many years of hip problems. He served on the Warren Borough Council and was chairman of that town's Sanitary Authority. His business interests included his being president of the former Hammond Iron Works and Ellison Bronze Company. He was a V.P. of Pittsburg-Des Moines Steel Company; chairman of the Hammond LatinoAmericana S.A.; and was a director of the Warren Axe and Toot Company, Deluxe Metal Fabricators Company, Rop's Windows, Inc., PittsburghDes Moines Corp., and the Warren National Bank. He was a member of the Conewango Club and the Ocean Club of Florida.

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Walker Kopf, sons Robert Y. Jr. '66, Will W., and Silas W. '72; a sister Elizabeth K. Hail; and five grandchildren.

Here was a man of exceptional ability and a very loyal Princetonian and classmate. He will indeed be missed.
