ROGER KIMBALL died on Oct 13, 1989, at his home in Laguna Hills, Calif.

He was born in Kenosha, Wisc., on Sept. 2, 1905. Roger prepared for college at Tome School. At Princeton he majored in philosophy and was a member of Court Cub. After graduation he worked for Allen A Hosiery Co., and for two years during the 1930s he was V.P. of the Allen A Co. in Canada.

In 1937 Roger founded and became president of Auburn Hosiery Mills, Inc., in Auburn, Ky. The Kimballs lived in nearby Russellville, Ky. A second mill was built some years later in Adairville, Ky. In 1979 the business was sold, and Roger continued to work there in an advisory capacity for several years. He retired and moved to California in 1982.

Roger was a senior warden in the Trinity Episcopal Church of Russellville, and was a member of the Bishop's Committee for many years. He was an active Rotarian in both Kentucky and California. He was a director of the Auburn Banking Co., and served on the board of the Logan County Public Library. His recreational favorites were golf and bridge.

Rog married Mary Elizabeth Hedges on Apr. 22, 1930, in Frederick, Md. Among the ushers at the wedding were Don Liddell, Ben Crispin, and Ted Hamilton. Mary died on Jan. 3, 1978. There were two children, Mary (Mrs. E. Bosworth Grier) and Roger Jr. There are three grandchildren. His classmates remember Roger's friendship with gratitude and extend their sincere sympathy to Roger's children.
