Ronald J. Hull ’88

Ron died Nov. 21, 2008, in San Francisco; tragically, he took his own life. 

Ron grew up in Grosse Pointe, Mich., and attended University Liggett School. At Princeton he majored in comparative literature, lived in Wilson College (in “the zoo” freshman year), and belonged to Terrace Club. He participated in the Nassoons, Triangle, and GAP. 

Ron earned a law degree at the University of Michigan Law School and was a member of the California Bar Association. Although he started with freelance legal work, he left the law to pursue a career in publishing, working as a technical writer and editor for several companies, including IDG Books, PeopleSoft, Informatica, and most recently Cisco IronPort. 

Ron was kind, friendly, and an inspiration to many. He will be remembered for his strong presence, his sweet nature, gentleness and sensitivity, his compassion for others, his wry sense of humor, his aesthetic sensibility, and his fun-loving ways.

Ron is survived by his life partner of 15 years, Mark White; his mother, Kitty; his sister, Kathy ’86; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. We send our sincerest condolences to them all. Ron’s death is a big loss. He will be missed.
