ROY WENGER died peacefully on Mar. 10, 1993, at the Nursing Care facility in the Messiah Village Retirement Center in Mechanicsburg, Penn., where he had lived for several years, after moving from his home in Carlisle. Roy was 96 years old and had lived all of his adult life in Carlisle. Roy transferred to Princeton from Aurora College, Ill., at the beginning of his sophomore year and was ordained to the Christian ministry in Apr. 1928. He served as pastor of the Brethren in Christ Church until his retirement in 1954.

Roy was also very active in local community affairs, including the United Fund of Carlisle and the Carlisle Hospital. He also founded, and for 33 years operated, Wengers Store in Carlisle, and he was active in real estate development. He is survived by his second wife, Miriam, who was a missionary in Africa for 17 years; his son William; daughter Elizabeth Hatfield; seven grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren.
