Samuel Horace Levine ’30
MAY 19, 1993, our class lost one of its most loyal, warmhearted, generous, and faithfulinreunionattendance members. Football prowess surely helped to make "Bruise" (don't call me "Sam") Levine one of the wellknown members of the class while at Princeton. Later, while serving as class president, Bruise's dedication to the welfare of the class earned the respect of many. Soon after graduation, he married Charlotte Brandt who, with their three daughters, Iris Anne Franco, Carole Anne Levine, and Betsy Anne Kreger; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, survive him. Other family survivors are a brother, Hyman, and sister, Mickey Florillo.
With his football days well behind him, he updated his nickname from Bruise to Bruce in 1950 and after a brief stint on Wall St. and 19 years in the motion picture business in NYC, he moved to Florida to become involved in real estate and cattle raising.
Bruce's Princeton activities in Florida were many. He served both as V.P. and president of the Princeton Club of South Florida, was a member of the Schools Committee, and was an Alumni Council Representative. He was class V.P. and then served as president of our class from 1985 to 1990.
We join with the family and Bruce's many friends to share in their sadness at the loss of this fine Princetonian.
