Sam died July 17, 2021, following a diving accident in Sarasota, Fla. 

Sam came to Princeton from St. John’s High School in Toledo, Ohio. At Princeton he majored in politics and was a member of Ivy Club, where he developed lifelong friendships. Sam rowed on the varsity lightweight crew and lived in Wilson (now First) College. At the time of his death, he was a lease portfolio sales manager at Mercedes-Benz of Denver/Littleton.

Sam is survived by his life partner, Jennifer Barginda; daughter Maya Fair; mother Linda Sue Fair; and father Samuel J. Fair Jr.
