Sidney A. Stewart ’20
SIDNEY STEWART died Dec. 17, 1992, in West Hartford, Conn. He was a former president of Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co. and a nationally known aircraft industry executive. In the 1930s, he was general manager of the Hamilton Standard division of United Aircraft. He had also been executive V.P. of United Aircraft, executive V.P. of Delta Airlines, and president of Chicago and Southern Airlines before it merged with Delta.
Sidney was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He was a naval aviator in WWI. At Princeton , he was a member of the track team, the varsity club, and Campus Club.
He is survived by a son, Sidney A. Jr.; a daughter, Sandra Milliken; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Margaret, and a son, William, predeceased him.
