Stephen Harris Harrington III ’59

Body

STEVE HARRINGTON died in Philadelphia on Dec. 23, 1989, after a courageous struggle against colon cancer. Steve came to Princeton from Haverford School and while at Princeton was a member of the board of trustees of the University Store and a radio engineer for the Princeton Broadcasting System. He majored in economics and was a member of Quadrangle Club.

After Princeton Steve joined I.B.M. in Philadelphia, and remained for 13 years designing data processing solutions for large corporations. Upon leaving I.B.M., Steve went into business for himself as a financial planner serving a national clientele. He married his wife, Milly, in 1982, and they moved to the North Fork in Cody, Wyo. Steve's love of Wyoming and the West went back to 1957 when he participated in a student conservation program in Wyoming. At one time he worked as a wrangler at the White Grass Ranch in Moose, Wyo. In Cody, Steve served as director of development for the Buffalo Bill Historical Center before opening up his own financial planning practice in Cody. Steve was a member of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of International Associates for Financial Planning Inc. and a Fellow of the Financial Analysts of Philadelphia.

Shortly before returning to Philadelphia for treatment, Steve, who was a private pilot, flew with Milly over his beloved Grand Tetons to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where they renewed their wedding vows. Steve is survived by Milly, to whom the Class extends its deepest sympathy.
