Stewart W. Morse Jr. ’49

He prepared at Deerfield Academy and majored in chemistry at Princeton. He was a member of Dial Lodge.

Stew served in the Army in Korea. He did graduate work at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and then worked for Celanese Corp. for six years before moving to Scott Paper Co. as a research chemist. He stayed at Scott 30 years until his retirement. During that time he helped in the development of the first cling wrap. After retirement he was active as a computer consultant.  

At age 50, Stew became an avid runner and participated in the 1981 Chicago Marathon. He was also active as a volunteer at the Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach, Fla.

Stew is survived by his wife, Audrey; sons Alan, Stewart, and Theodore; a daughter, Claudia Morse-Karzen; and numerous grandchildren. The class joins them in mourning their loss.
