With us he majored in English (drama), rowed on the 150-pound crew, served in Orange Key, was social chair of Tower Club, and joined the Pre-Law Society. He then earned his L.L.B. degree at University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1963.

Stu practiced law, first in Washington, D.C., then in New York City with the Sacks, Montgomery firm. He moved to Westport, Conn., with the same firm in the 1980s, practicing law and pursuing other business interests. Stu married twice. He lost his son Robert to COVID and his brother, Bert.
