Stuart Warren Don ’37

Body

Stuart Warren Don died Feb. 2, 2009.

Stu was born in Troy, N.Y., and lived in Saratoga, N.Y., as well as Louisville, Ky. He attended the Hotchkiss School before Princeton. At Princeton he majored in psychology, served as varsity track manager, and was a member of Triangle Club and Cap and Gown Club.

He spent a lot of his life in England, where he served in the Army during World War II, and worked in executive recruiting and as an assistant military attaché whose territory included Belgium. He separated from the Army as a lieutenant colonel, receiving a Bronze Star and Croix de Guerre. Stu later entered the banking business in England with Chase Manhattan Bank and served as vice president of Chemical Bank.

In 1938, Stu married Elsie B. Foster, who predeceased him. They had three children, three grandsons, and two granddaughters.

We shall miss this much-decorated veteran and astute businessman. To his family and friends, we express our sincere sympathy and fond remembrances.
