TED DIED Aug. 4, 1993. Ted was born in N.Y.C., and grew up in Englewood, N.J. He began hitting tennis balls at the age of six, and four years later started playing competitive tennis. After capturing the New York State Championship at the age of 11, Ted achieved an outstanding tennis record at New Jersey's DwightEnglewood H.S.

At Princeton, Ted was a tennis sensation, rising from a freshman ranked in the 50s among the 18andunders to captain of the tennis team and one of the 10 best collegiate players nationwide. Ted ranked as Princeton's top male tennis player during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. As a junior, Ted reached the semifinals of the I.T.C.A. fall All American Tournament and won the Princeton Invitational and the Natl. Indoor Singles Championships. His senior year, Ted advanced to the second round in the N.C.A.A.'s individual tournament, after achieving a 191 record in individual matches and ranking second in the Princeton Invitational.

Ted entered the navy in 1985, and, as a lieutenant senior grade, flew F18s, the navy's top fighterbomber. He was killed when his F18 crashed in the Nevada mountains while on a night mission.

The class extends its deepest sympathies to Ted's widow, Marcia; parents Patricia and E. Allen; and sisters Gigi, Karen, and Pamela.
