Terence L. Young ’69

Terry died March 17, 2026, from Alzheimer’s disease in Scottsdale, Ariz. Known to many of us over the years for his engaging nature and infectious laugh, Terry regularly attended Reunions and other classmate gatherings. His talent for reviving old friendships at these events will be sorely missed.
Terry was born in St. Louis and later moved with his family to Palm Springs, Fla., where he attended Lake Worth High School and played multiple sports. At Princeton, he played 150-pound football and baseball, earning varsity letters in both. Terry was a sports enthusiast and storyteller, and he could deploy his sharp wit to puncture any oversized ego. Terry was a member of Cannon and could often be seen wearing the iconic green Cannon tee, including in the years after our graduation.
Following Princeton, Terry spent 25 years as a management consultant, first at Arthur Andersen, and then as a partner at Ernst & Young. Shortly after E&Y’s consulting business was sold to a French concern, Terry left the company and spent a few years working on his golf game. He returned to the workplace as the CEO of the Producer-Writers Guild of America pension and health plans. Terry’s company handled all pension plan benefits and health fund claims for the guild, which represents film and television writers and producers, and supervised the investment of the plan’s funds.
In retirement, Terry and his wife, Karen, whom he married in 1985, lived in Scottsdale. She was an important part of many Reunions and other gatherings of ’69 friends. We send our deepest sympathy to Karen for her, and our, loss.
