THAYER TALCOTT died Aug. 28, 1993, at Falmouth, Mass. A memorial service was held Aug. 31 at St. Barnabas Chapel.

Tal was born Oct. 3, 1909, in South Orange, N.J. He prepared at Exeter. In college, he was in the Triangle Club, belonged to Campus Club, and roomed with Grant Waldref and Hank Oechler.

After college, Tal worked for Guaranty Trust in NYC. In 1943, he joined Walter Kidde in Belleville, N.J. He retired in 1964. After spending summers at the Cape, he moved there permanently in 1973. He was active in golf, tennis, and sailing. He also built many model ships and planes.

On Apr. 25, 1936, Thayer married Margaret S. Lea, in Orange, N.J., who survives, as do their children, Thayer Jr., Preston L., and Carol Ackland. There are six grandchildren. He also leaves a stepbrother, Albert Borden, and a sister, Mrs. Russell Smith. To all of them, the Class of '33 expresses its sympathy.
