Thomas Dickson Jr. ’42

TOM DIED of cancer Oct. 19, 1991, in Bridgeton, N.J., his home for 45 years. He had devoted his entire business career, starting in 1946, to AirWork Corp., of which he was a cofounder, as V.P. and general manager. He and his partners were responsible for building a multimillion dollar air frame and engine repair business with facilities at many airports in the eastern part of the U.S. It had grown from a fledgling enterprise with 23 employees to one employing nearly 1,000.

Tom came to Princeton from Northwood School, and although he left at the end of sophomore year, he never lost interest in the University or the Class of 1942. His love of aviation was developed during the war through his four years of service in the Army Air Corps as a captain. His sports interests included golf, tennis, and hockey, which he played during both of his years at Princeton. He also served as V.P., director, and treasurer of the National Aviation Trades Assn.

To his widow, Marge, and to his sons Chip, Rick and the Class extends its heartfelt sympathies.
