Thomas J. Hennon ’52

Body

Tom died June 27, 2009, after a long battle with many health issues including Alzheimer’s disease.

Tom was a true “townie.” He was born and raised in Princeton, attended Princeton High School, and graduated from the Lawrence-
ville School. At the University, Tom majored in English and joined Tiger Inn. He roomed with Rudy Lehnert, his loyal lifelong friend, and played defensive end on the ’50 and ’51 football teams.

Tom entered the advertising/marketing world at Colgate-Palmolive Co. He retired from Manufacturers Hanover Trust in
1986.

In 1952, Tom married Audrey Andersen, whom he met during his freshman year at Princeton High School. They moved to Summit, N.J., in 1957 and retired to the Flemington, N.J., area in 1999. Tom’s eight children and 13 grandchildren were his life and joy.

Tom treasured his days at Princeton and his teammates. At a memorial Mass in the University Chapel, his children, Cathy and John, and his grandson, J.P., shared their memories of Tom. Attending the memorial were Rudy and Mildred Lehnert, Dick Kazmaier, Tom Mangan, Hollie Donan, and Joe Bolster.

The class extends condolences to Audrey and to the family.
