Thomas Lillibridge Wilkin Lauer ’23

Body

Our classmate, known on campus as "Box," was born in Port Allegany, Penn., Sept. 24, 1901. He left us Nov. 12, 1990. He grew up in his home town and graduated from the local high school. He came to us in Sept. 1920, a transfer from Swarthmore College. He was a member of the football squad and lived at Middle Dod. He earned his B.S. degree in economics and science, and his R.O.T.C. commission as a second lieutenant.

Thomas married Martha Ann Marshall, and, after her death he married Helen O'Ryan, who died May 4, 1987. He is survived by his son Thomas Jr. '55 and his daughter Ann Jesup (Vassar '61). His memorial service was held at St. Matthew 'S Episcopal Church, Bedford, N.Y., on Dec. 10, 1990. The memory of a loyal Tiger and a true gentleman lingers on in the memories of his remaining classmates.
