W. Mercier Parker ’18

Body

AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS, W. Mercier "Perk" Parker passed away in California on Dec. 27, 1991. News of his death came from his son Stephen '51.

Perk was a member of Campus Club and, his son believes, roomed with Sandy Lyman. Perk served in both world wars, attaining the rank of major in WWII. He was married to Mildred (nee Northmore) and the late Catherine (nee Raff), and was the father of the late William M. Jr. '46, and of Davis R. '49, as well as of Stephen. He is survived by 14 grandchildren, including Karen '85, and 18 greatgrandchildren.

Perk made his home in the Cleveland area for more than 60 years and retired to Laguna Beach, Calif., in 1973, where he met and married Mildred. He was a regular attendee at reunions and was at the '85 affair, which happily coincided with the graduation of his granddaughter Karen. To his many devoted family members, so many of whom are Princetonians, the Class sends its condolences.
