Walter B. Wilson ’41

Body

WALT WILSON, a retired Miami Beach family therapist, passed away Nov. 17, 1993, after a long illness. A WWII veteran, he had moved to Miami from N.Y.C., where his father had been a prominent attorney and Realtor. He and his widow, Beverley, whom he met on a blind date, had been married for 36 years. There are no children.

Walt prepared at Woodbury Forest and majored in politics at Princeton. He was a member of Orange Key. After an honorable medical discharge from the military, he attended Tulane Univ., then worked with the military and naval-welfare service of the Red Cross in the southeastern U.S. Then he became a clinical social worker with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center in Miami. Beverley says, "He was a very caring person who loved his work helping others," adding that he is best remembered for his sense of humor. He had retired from private practice in 1988 when he became ill.

We extend condolences to his widow and to Walt’s three cousins.
