Walter Worthington Graham ’36

WALTER DIED Nov. 29, 1991, in Denver at age 76. He was the son of John W. Graham '07. He was predeceased by his brothers John W. Jr. '29 and George S. '33.

He was in the National Honor Society at Denver's East H.S. At Princeton he majored in philosophy, was on the freshman golf team, and was a member of Campus Club.

He enlisted as a private in WWII and rose to the rank of captain of an antiaircraft battery. He served in France and the German Rhineland and was awarded the Bronze Star and four battle stars.

After five years in banking, he spent some 30 years in the construction industry in successive positions with Platt Rogers Co., Gerald H. Phipps, Inc., and Caissons Construction Co. from which he retired in 1980.

Walter enjoyed flyfishing, golf, poetry, and humor. He was a member of St. John's Cathedral.

He is survived by his widow, the former Annette Johnson, whom he married in 1942, daughters Carol G. Gore, Marry Harris, Janet Ricedorff, and seven grandchildren,

Although we had not seen Walter in recent years, we know that he had deep affection for Princeton and his Class.
