Warner Gibson Taylor Jr. ’28

Body

WARNER DIED Dec. 14, 1992, at the Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home in New York. His health had been failing for a number of years, and he needed nursing care at home the last three years. He was unable to walk unaided for most of this time. He was in the nursing home for just nine days prior to his death.

Warner received his preparatory education at Mercersburg, and at Princeton he majored in geology and was a member of Arbor Inn. After graduation, he joined the New York Telephone Co., and spent his career in management positions with that company. He retired in 1971.

Warner was married to Emma Osmun, and they had two children, Warner G. III and Lucia Harrison Holland. Emma died after 20 years of marriage, and later, Warner married Mary Harford. He is survived by her, his two children, and four grandchildren.

Warner served as a volunteer at Lenox Hill Hospital until handicapped by difficulty in walking. He was a member of the Princeton Club of New York, and Mary remembers enjoying many dinners and other gatherings there. Warner was on the Princeton Alumni Schools Committee, attended the 50th Reunion of the Class of 1928, and regularly came to Class dinners in New York.

His classmates will remember Warner's gentle manner, his love of the outofdoors, and his devotion to his Princeton friends. The sympathy of the Class is with Mary and the members of Warner's family.
