Warren Fales ’43

FLUNX DIED at his home in Ridgefield, Conn., on July 16, 1992. He was 71 years old.

He prepped for Princeton at Kent School, and was an honors graduate of the University. During his campus years, Warren ran WPRU, the University's radio station, and was very instrumental in increasing its range of programs and hours of operation.

During WWII Flunx joined the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of captain; he served with the adjutant general's office for several years.

Warren established a successful career in advertising with Doherty, Clifford, Steers & Shenfeld; Compton; and Lever Brothers. In 1956 he set up his own marketing consultant agency. When he left that endeavor, Warren turned to a new career, with Quail Hill Products, Ltd., which designed and made rugs. Most recently, he had become the agent for firms in Hong Kong and other Asian countries engaged in the business of handcrafted wool rugs.

In Ridgefield, Warren was active in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and the Fox Hill Lake Assn.

He is survived by a son, Michael; a stepdaughter, Ellen; and a stepson, Eugene.
