Wilbur Tyson Trueblood Jr. ’38

Body

The class and Princeton lost a great friend and the ultimate Tiger with the death of Will Trueblood on July 19, 1989. A native of St. Louis, Mo., Will moved with his wife, Anne, to Naples, Fla., upon his retirement in 1978. He served the Princeton Club of Southwest Florida as president from 1981 to 1983 and as secretary thereafter.

Will majored in psychology, graduating with honors, and belonged to Campus Club. He was the circulation manager of the Prince all four years and participated in the Triangle Club. After college, he worked in advertising in St. Louis. He served in the Navy from 1941 to 1945, becoming a lieutenant commander. From 1948 to 1957, he worked in sales and advertising with Magic Chef, Inc. He then joined Krupnick and Associates and was a co-owner of this firm at the time of his retirement. He served as an alderman of Clayton, Mo., and on a number of civic boards. In Naples, he volunteered wherever he saw a need: property-owners associations, the neighborhood watch, and the local hospital. Our world is certainly better because of his concerns.

In addition to Anne, Will is survived by three daughters, Anne Lee Wallace, Elizabeth T. Rasmus, and Suzanne T. Lehr, and a son, W. Tyson III. Like them, we shall miss him.
