William Anthony Reiss ’38

Body

JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE OUR REUNION in June we were saddened by the death of Bill Reiss. He was a native of Sheboygan, Wisc., and returned there after graduation to become an executive and subsequently president of the family coal shipping business.

He came to Princeton via Exeter; roomed with Nick Stahl and Freddy Field, majored in politics, graduating with honors; and was a member of Campus Club and the golf team.

Bill was trustee emeritus of St. Norbert College's board of governors and in 1977 was awarded an honorary doctor of laws by the college. He served on the Wisconsin Governor's Development Authority and on the board of the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was active in Catholic Church organizations.

After Louise, his first wife, died in 1978 he married Patricia Braun in 1980. To her we extend our deepest sympathy as well as to Bill's four daughters, two sons, and stepson.
