William Arthur Ely Jr. ’39
BILL DIED IN Nov. 1980, but where and under what circumstances we do not know. He had been on our address unknown list since 1964 and, in spite of persistent efforts, we were never again able to get in touch with him.
Born in Reading, Penn., Bill returned there after graduation to work for Carpenter Steel Co. Following wartime service as a navy medical corpsman, he returned to Carpenter, but not for long. From 195358, he worked for Parish Pressed Steel Co., also in Reading, and 195962, he was a chemist with Wolicki Chemical Co. in Birdsboro, Penn. That was the last we ever knew of him. He had a brother and sister, but they also had no idea of his whereabouts after 1964. We mourn the passing of a classmate.
