William Earl Garrison ’34

Body

BILL GARRISON, whose interests over the years included writing, camping, traveling, history, architecture, gardening, tennis, and spectator sports, particularly Princeton football, died Dec. 16, 1989, after years of declining health. He was a regular attendee of class functions and an enthusiastic participant in class activities. "I love Princeton," he once wrote, "always did and always will."

Most of Bill's business career was spent innovating and developing personnel programs, most recently as senior personnel officer at the Bank of New Jersey in Camden. Earlier he served as personnel executive at the Camden Trust Co., the First National Bank of Omaha (1961-65), and the People's Trust Co. of Bergen County (N.J.).

Bill was married nearly 48 years ago to Mary Frances T. Lafferty, who survives and lives at Elmgrove, a handsome 1810 Federal-style house in Jobstown, N.J., which they restored in the '70s. Also surviving are a son, William E. Jr.; two daughters, Ann and Mary; and two grandchildren. To them we offer sincere sympathies.
