William Henry Linkroum Jr. ’38

Body

BILL LINKROUM died peaceably at home, 3308 Cove Rd., Jupiter, Fla., on Nov. 4, 1989, after a long period of declining health.

A Lawrenceville graduate, he majored in art, He roomed with Bob Butterworth and Phil Copp and belonged to Elm Dub. During WWII he flew for Pan Am Airways in the Air Transport Command, but polio struck in 1945, forcing him to give up flying. He operated a citrus grove in Florida, then took the brave step of entering law school at Miami Univ., earning his law degree in 1951. He used his degree in the real estate business until retirement.

Bill was family-oriented, enjoyed life, and never let circumstances like his polio get him down. His favorite expression was "Love is all-conquering."

He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, the former Claire Sheffield; a son, William H. III, and a daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Hugh Pennell), both of Chester, Vt., where the family summered. They have our sympathy.
