BIEL CROUL DIED Nov. 23, 1993, in Bryn Mawr, Penn. A memorial Mass was held at St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne, Penn., Dec. 1. Ben was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Detroit. He prepared at the Dean School in Santa Barbara, Calif. In college, he was on the baseball team and a member of Tiger Inn.

After college, Bill joined the family business, Riverside Storage and Cartage Co. in Detroit, of which he became president and chairman. During WWII, he served in the navy as commanding officer of a destroyer escort. In 196 1, he joined the Detroit Bank and Trust Co. as a V.P., retiring in 1976. He was active in civic affairs, and played squash and tennis. A few years ago, he moved to a retirement community in Bryn Mawr.

Bill married Winifred Plainer on Aug. 10, 1946, in Manchester, Mass. She survives, as do their four children, Winifred Diedrich, Elwood, Maria CroulBush, and Amy Weiss. There are two grandsons.

Bill was a popular member of the class. To Freddie and the rest of the family, the Class of'33 expresses its deep sympathy.
