MAC SUCCUMBED to heart disease Jan. 12, 1994, at the Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J. He was 72. He joined '44 with a small group of wonderful men from Brooklyn Polytechnic Preparatory School, where he had lettered in wrestling and golf. At Princeton, he majored in psychology. Freshman year, he roomed in Campbell, then in Lockhart with Dave Johnson and Pete Williams. His club was Cannon. Bill received his degree in Mar. 1943 and entered the army, serving with the security police of the Ninth Air Force in the European theater. On separation from active duty, Bill joined the familyfounded McRoberts Protective Agency, working security for maritime companies in the Port of New York. He married his sweetheart of summers at Mohawk Lake, N.J., and settled in Rumson. In 1969, he was elected president of McRoberts and expanded the agency into a national fullservice security enterprise. He retired as chairman in 1993 after devoting 47 years to the agency.

Family and golf were his loves as he divided his time between Rumson and Ft. Lauderdale.
