William Lamont Calvert ’45

Body

He entered Princeton from Southside High School in Rockville Centre, N.Y., following in the footsteps of his brother, Leonard ’41. At Princeton he joined Cloister Inn, but his Princeton studies ended after his first year when he enlisted in the Navy Reserve and was sent to Cornell for its V-12 program. He received a radio technician rating and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1943. He then joined Union Carbide Corp. in Bloomfield, N.J., married Marjorie Horst-

man, a girl from his hometown, and they raised three sons. By our 40th reunion they had moved to Clinton, Conn., where Bill died.

In addition to Marjorie, Bill leaves his sons, Steven, David, and Richard. The class expresses its sympathy to the family.
