William M. Corrigan ’50

BILL DIED Sept 20, 1991, at his home in High Point, N.C., after a heroic fivemonth bout with cancer. He was 64. He came to Princeton in 1946, part of a contingent of ten graduates of Woodberry Forest who entered college that year. A childhood case of rheumatic fever kept Bill on the sidelines athletically, but during his four years at Princeton his warm, outgoing personality made him a host of friends. He was a member of Cloister inn.

Following graduation Bill returned home to join the Lilly Company where he worked for 39 years. He became president and treasurer of his company and also president and director of the parent company, Lilly Industrial Coatings, Indianapolis. He retired in 1989.

Bill took a leading role in community affairs in his hometown. A director of the old Stone Bank, N.C.N.B., the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, and the United Fund, he also was active in the Rotary Club and the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church.

A devoted father, Bill is survived by his widow, Ginny; two daughters, Louise and Sallie; and a brother Jim. To all of them the Class extends its sympathy and thanks for a marvelous human being.
