BILL DIED Sept. 2, 1992, in the Phoenixville (Penn.) Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He had retired in 1970, after ten years as a selfemployed investment broker in Montgomery County, Penn.

Bill joined the Class from Penn Charter and left before graduation to join the Coast Guard, in which he served for four and a half years as a lieutenant (j.g.) during WWII. He later attended the Univ. of Virginia.

He was employed by the Philadelphia Quartz Co. and in 1959 began work as a manager for the Cornwell Chemical Corp. He subsequently established his own investment brokerage business. Bill also did volunteer work for many organizations, including the Parent Teacher Assn. and Boy Scouts of America, for which he received the Silver Beaver Award for Outstanding Service in 1967. He was an honorary life member of the State Congress and a founding member of the Schuykill River Greenways Assn.

To his widow, Jean; his sons William III, Robert, and Douglas; his daughters Cynthia and Cheryl; and his six grandchildren; the Class extends its sincere sympathies.
