William P. Huxley ’31

Body

William P. Huxley died in Easton, Md., Dec. 26, 1994. He prepared at Phillips Academy. At Princeton, Buck participated in Triangle Club and Theatre Intime, was on the Tiger Business Board, and was a member of Cap and Gown Club.

At first a representative for Singer Sewing Machine, he joined United Aircraft in 1940, becoming sales manager of the Hamilton Standard Division and a director of the Service Corp. He retired in 1969 as helicopter v.p.

Born in Evanston, Ill., he had lived many places, including Washington, D.C.; Boston; and Easton (where he spent his final 25 years). Buck traveled extensively, first on business, but he later traveled around the world with his wife, Allie.

His hobbies were golf, fishing, racquet games, and bird hunting. His black Laborador retriever was a great comfort to him after the death of his wife. He had belonged to the Farmington Country Club, Coventry Fish and Game Club, Hartford Squash Club, and Hartford Tennis Club.

His two sons, William P. Jr. and Robert D., and one grandson survive him. His wife, Allie (Alice Daniel), died in Oct. 1985. This dynamic, fun, ardent Princetonian, and supporter of 1931 will be missed by those who knew him. The class offers deep sympathy to his family.
