William Robert Meighan ’35

Body

Bill Meighan died Oct. 31, 2009, in Canal Winchester, Ohio.

Born in Pittsburgh and raised in St. Petersburg, Fla., and New York City, he came to Princeton from St. Paul’s School in Garden City, N.Y. At Princeton he was a politics major and a member of Tower Club. Junior and senior years he roomed in Little Hall with Ralph Reiman.

From that point on, we know very little about Bill’s life and career, although he did report in our 50th-reunion yearbook that he and his wife, Caroline, were living in Bergenfield, N.J., and that he had a son, Robert. We do not know if they survive him. He also said that he had worked for Ford until 1979 and then for Barron Wald, an insurance broker.

Bill’s nephew, John Meighan, also of Canal Winchester, reported his death to the University. We regret not only the loss of our classmate, but that we did not have more contact with him over the years.
