BILL SAUMS DIED peacefully Mar. 9, 1993. He was 93. He had moved to Hillsdale, N.Y., from N.Y.C. after retiring as a broker for commercial and industrial real estate. He was responsible for assembling the ground plots for the construction of City Hall. Bill was born in Trenton and attended Trenton H.S. His ancestors established a farm before the Revolution. His ancestors, on both sides of his family, fought in the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, and the Civil War. Bill belonged to the students' auxiliary training corp at college, and served as an antiaircraft and artillery officer in WWII. He was a member of Whig Hall. Bill was a lifelong Presbyterian and served as a vestryman in several churches where he lived. His widow, Dorothy, survives, as well as two sons and a granddaughter.
