William Telson Morris ’51

At Princeton, he majored in economics, belonged to Elm Club, and roomed with Dwight Degener, Bob Johnston, and George O’Brien. On June 14, 1951, he married Eugenia Gardner, and they eventually became the parents of William T. III, Gregory, and David.  

Bill worked for the Committee on Project Research at Princeton from 1951 to 1953 before he went into the Air Force for two years. He then joined Welcome Wagon, becoming its vice president of overseas operations.  

In 1969, Bill joined Landmark Communications as vice president in charge of its apartment developments in California. He and his family relocated to Denver in 1976, where he engaged in mountain-land development for the rest of his life, founding the Game Trail Co. fronting on Mount Princeton in Buena Vista, Colo.

A lifelong Presbyterian, Bill was a deacon in his church and was particularly active as a teacher. He taught Sunday school to more than 700 classes of fifth graders over the years. Bill died in Denver Jan. 25, 2008, and is survived by his widow, Lee; his three sons; and eight grandchildren.
