William A. Walker ’31
WILLIAM AUGUSTUS WALKER died Nov. 20, 1993, in Hilton Head, where he moved from Grosse Point Park Mich., when he retired in 1976. Born Nov. 11, i908, in Birmingham, Ala., he attended Episcopal High and Mercersburg, before entering Princeton in 1926. After a brief absence, he transferred in senior year to the Class of 1931, and roomed with Bill Hitz. Having graduated from Univ. of Alabama Law School, he practiced in Detroit. Bill joined the army air corps Sept. 2, 194 1, was active in Panama and England, rose to the rank of It. colonel, and served until Dec. 1945, having received three decorations. Bill enjoyed trout Fishing, curling, golf, and bridge, He was active in community service and the church. We extend sympathy to his widow, Evelyn Smith Walker, and to his Princeton relatives: brother E. Cullom '28, brother Shelby S. '35, brother-inlaw Donald D. Kennedy '25, and cousin Robert Jenison 111 '28.
