The 50 State Fossils (Schiffer Books) brings the ancient organisms that produced each of the 50 states’ fossils back to life. Each entry describes where the fossil can be found and what sort of organism produced it, alongside illustrations of what that organism may have once looked like. An appendix directs readers to museums and state parks where the fossils can be studied first-hand.
